Sports Webcasting Network (www.sportswebnet.com) will kick off this year’s lacrosse coverage with a special presentation of the second annual Lacrosse Day of Champions to be held at Manhasset High School.

Sports Webcasting Network will be presenting exclusive free on-demand video webcasts of three highly touted games. Sportswebnet.com’s webcast schedule will include the Friday March 27, 2009 varsity girls match-up between Manhasset and Seaford, the boy’s varsity match-up between Manhasset and South Side, played on March 28 and the NCAA featured match-up between 18th ranked St. John's University and Rutgers.

The on-demand webcast of the girl’s game will begin on Saturday, March 28 at noon. On-demand webcast’s of both the boys and NCAA game will begin on Sunday 3/29 at noon.

Sportswebnet.com expects to announce the complete lacrosse schedule within the next week.

“We are very excited about this event,” said play-by-play announcer and SWN Director Rob Goldenberg said. “Its going to be a great weekend of lacrosse action, featuring no doubt a powerhouse in Manhasset and an opportunity to see one of the top local college teams play in St. Johns.”

Last year Sports Webcasting Network’s lacrosse coverage featured Long Island standout programs West Islip, Manhasset and Cold Spring Harbor and Connecticut powerhouse Darien.

Sports Webcasting Network also featured coverage of 3 Long Island playoff games and capped coverage by partnering with Long Island based newspaper Newsday to broadcast the 2008 Empire State Gold Medal Boys Lacrosse Game from Binghamton, New York.

The games Executive Producer and one of SWN’s Directors Tom Bruno feels the growing intensity and excitement. "You always want your coverage to escalate to a fevers pitch, however, this is a great opportunity to see some fierce rivalries at the beginning of the season,” he said.

A full schedule of lacrosse games will take place including several nationally and locally acclaimed programs at the college, high school and youth levels. All games will be played at Manhasset High School and at neighboring fields.

Mark your calendar-tickets are on sale now. Buy tickets online at www.irockfundhome.org until March 26 at $15 each. After March 26, tickets will be $20 each. All proceeds benefit two local charities: The Indians Rock Community Foundation and the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

FRIDAY, MARCH 27

  • Manhasset Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team vs. Seaford at 4:15 p.m. (Webcast on SWN)
  • Boys Youth Tournament 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Free Recruiting Seminar 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Manhasset High School Auditorium. Featuring Jason Miller, head lacrosse coach at St. John's University plus a panel of committed recruited student athletes. Free refreshments will follow the recruiting seminar.

SATURDAY, MARCH 28

  • Boys and Girls Youth Tournaments at 8 a.m.
  • JV Boys Lacrosse vs. South Side's JV at 10 a.m.
  • Top-20 ranked St. John's Men's Lacrosse Team vs. Rutgers' University at noon (Webcast on SWN)
  • Manhasset Boys Varsity vs. South Side at 2:30 p.m. (Webcast on SWN)

Ticket price includes admission for the entire event. All attendees, 5 years or older, must have a ticket for admission onto the campus on Saturday.
